Montreal is the metropolis of Quebec in Canada. The city is a major center of commerce, industry, culture, finance and international business. Montreal hosted the World Expo 1967 and the Summer Olympics of 1976. You can also see the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, the Just for Laughs Festival, Montreal High Lights Festival and the club professional hockey, the Montreal Canadiens. Old Montreal has been declared a historic district in 1964.

the 2006 census, the population of Montreal was 1,637,563 inhabitants (3,695,800 inhabitants in all its suburbs). Approximately 52.4% of the population of the city is growing and French, 32.4% is neo-Canadian culture and language other than English and French and is 12.5% of culture and language English, making Montreal an intercultural city.
