Maligne Canyon is located at 11.5 km from Jasper and he is aged 11 000 years. The water flows quickly and loudly by location. The river has its starting point the Maligne Lake, 65 km further south, it flows into the Athabasca River. The highest waterfall in the canyon has a height of 23 meters.
Falls, fossils, potholes, underground sources of steam, the nests of crows, and rare dark swifts, the amazing exuberance of vegetation and the sparkling effect of frost action, this does are just some of the wonders of the Maligne Canyon. The water was swirling, tumultuous spent the canyon, only two meters wide in some places to a depth of more than 50 meters.
Maligne Canyon is carved in training Palliser layer of limestone deposited in an ancient shallow tropical sea plankton by secreting lime, there are about 365 million years. Geologists claim that parts of the canyon were originally deep caves that have been uncovered by the ice scraping and erosion.
Four bridges span the gorge and each offer a particular view. A short loop achieves the upstream edge of the canyon, and a longer trail follows the gorge to finish fifth and sixth bridges downstream.
