40th Church Anniversary Congratulatory Letter

part 2

Finally, I could find time for my walk yet Midtown was once this weekend.

Not too many people (well, half an hour queuing to get a taste has Toraya nonetheless) and good and bad surprises.

I begin with the lowest. The Suntory Museum.

Jolie entry, clueless in the middle of Midtown, hardly anyone after a Saturday afternoon: it fishy!

And for good reason, for 1000 yen, it was the right one as two large exhibition halls of the Museum of Ueno (already not the Louvre at the base ...)

The stage design is basic, basic ... normal view that most of the rooms should probably be kept in the dark.

In fact, I've not even said what it presents.

At the exhibition menu "IWAI: Art of Celebration" : festive clothes, dishes, screens ... bric a brac has a (very) thin thread.

I better understand why this show did not attract the crowds: Perhaps the Japanese reviews (I did not read) were bof bof.

hope the next expo will be more convincing, even if the space itself is small. The site is

the anyway.

However, the site 21_21 Design Sight Tadao Ando was more blind and more interesting.

architecture already, she likes it or not, leaves no stone.

The theme of the exhibition opening was different realizations of the Master (who was there in person, smiling, signing autographs) and the work which we only see the result then it implies months of thoughts and efforts of hundreds of field workers.

In itself, the theme was so attractive (as long as we appreciate the work of Tadao Ando), but after, I think it should be a little more architect than I am to grasp the complexity of models and polystyrene of different sketches.

And too many people kill the world, I have not had the courage to dwell on all the pieces or to queue for the representation of William Forsythe in the next room.

But I realized that this feedback turns increasingly to negative while just seeing Ando sensei in flesh and bones has already justified my opinion this visit.

short, a site where I will be back and I advise you to look.

The exhibition site
